What are comparative adverbs?
Comparative adverbs compare how, to what degree, or where something happens.
Lika
Lika expresses the same degree and is commonly followed by an adjective or adverb + som.
Hon springer lika snabbt som jag.She runs as fast as I do.
Båda barnen är lika stora.Both children are the same size.
Så
Så compares degree or manner.
Det är inte så farligt.It is not that dangerous., It is not that bad.
It is especially common in comparisons with som:
Korven är inte så varm som den ska.The sausage is not as hot as it should be.
Annorlunda
Annorlunda means differently or different and expresses a difference in manner.
Det fungerar annorlunda här.It works differently here.
A comparison can be added with än:
Det fungerar annorlunda här än hemma.It works differently here than at home.
Annanstans
Annanstans means somewhere else or elsewhere.
Kan vi gå någon annanstans?Can we go somewhere else?
